Whitney Boat House on the North Shore of Long Island

The elegant structure was originally built in 1910 by William Payne Whitney, businessman and philanthropist, as a gift to his son, John Hay "Jock" Whitney, to serve as a dock and hanger for his 40-foot seaplane.
