English Cottage Where Eisenhower Planned D-Day Is Now a New Build
Eisenhower, who later served as U.S. president from 1953-61, lived at a small cottage formerly on the homesite while planning Operation Torch, the Allied invasion of North Africa, and Operation Overlord, the codename for D-Day. He even painted the cottage in an oil on canvas that was sold at auction in 2014.
